Huntington Local School District will operate one combined bus route this afternoon for Elementary, Middle School, and High School students.
Parent pick-ups will be released at 2:30 p.m. Parent pick-up will take place in the usual locations: Middle School/High School in front of the MS/HS building, and Elementary in the rear of the school.
Student drivers and buses will be loaded and depart at 3:00 p.m.
At this time, schools will dismiss at the regular scheduled time.
Huntington Local School District is in session today, Friday, February 6th. Due to road poor conditions there will not be bus service to top of Easterday Road, Minney Hill Road, Rinehart Road and Turner Road.
At approximately 7:20 a.m. today, the Ross County Sheriff’s Office notified Huntington Local School District of another threat that was called into their office. At this time, students are in the building and the district is operating under a modified lockdown.
The building was thoroughly checked last night and again this morning, and it was confirmed that no one entered the building overnight.
Multiple law enforcement agencies will be on site throughout the day. Homeland Security is deploying a SkyWatch Tower, which will remain on our campus to monitor all activity. In addition, the FBI is working to obtain the necessary warrants to trace the origin of the phone calls. Canine unit is on campus.
We remain vigilant and believe it is important for our students to be in the classroom. We understand the anxiety this situation may cause for students, staff, and families, and we are working closely with law enforcement to identify the source of these threats.
Based on the precautionary measures in place and the guidance of law enforcement, we are confident in our ability to safely proceed with school today.
Huntington Local School District
We ask for your patience and understanding as our school district works closely with law enforcement to determine the origin of these threats and ensure the safety of our school community.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Huntington Local Schools
Huntington Local Schools is committed to providing continuous learning opportunities for our students, even when circumstances prevent traditional, in-person instruction.
Under Ohio law, the use of “blizzard bags” has been eliminated and replaced with Online Learning Days. School districts are required to submit an approved plan for these days and may utilize them in place of traditional calamity or snow days.
Due to the number of calamity days already used this school year, the next three days that school would need to be closed will be conducted as Online Learning Days.
Please review the full details regarding Online Learning Days at the link below:

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Sincerely,
Huntington Local Schools
