Alan Preston
Intervention Specialist
I am an 8th grade intervention teacher entering my 15th year in education. I hold a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Central State University and two master’s degrees—one in K-12 Intervention from Antioch University and another in Administration from Grand Canyon University. I am passionate about building strong relationships with students and helping them achieve their full potential.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy coaching football. I try to motivate my students and players with the belief: "It's not how you start, it's how you finish. Every day is a new beginning."

Anna Chaffin
Mathematics
Hello! I’m a fourth-year math teacher with a passion for helping students build confidence and problem-solving skills through mathematics. I graduated from Lee University in 2022 with a degree in Mathematics Education, and I’ve loved being in the classroom ever since. I strive to make math engaging, relatable, and meaningful for all learners.
Outside of school, I enjoy photography. It has become a creative outlet that allows me to slow down and appreciate the details, much like solving a good math problem. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, and together we have one beautiful daughter with another on the way. Family means everything to me, and I bring that same sense of care and commitment into my teaching every day.
I’m excited for the year ahead and look forward to helping each student grow and succeed both in and out of the classroom. Families can contact me via email at Anna.Chaffin@Huntsmen.org
Tricia Reed
Science
My name is Tricia Reed and I teach 8th grade Science. This is my 10th year teaching at Huntington Schools. My undergraduate studies were completed at Shawnee State University and Adventist University for a BS in Radiology and My Master’s in Education was completed at Liberty University.
My favorite thing to teach in Science is a tie between genetics and electromagnets. Both include fun hands-on labs to help us learn! When I am not in class I also work at Grant hospital in MRI. A fun fact about me is that I love to run! This is why I assist with the Cross Country team. Since I am so active outside of school, it is easiest to contact me through email, tricia.reed@huntsmen.org.
I bring to the classroom a wealth of real world experience and knowledge. This will help you apply what we learn in class to your own lives as you grow. My goal for this year is to help you become an independent and curious learner!
Jeff Magill
Social Studies
Welcome! My name is Jeff Magill, and I teach 8th Grade American History. This is my thirteenth year teaching at Huntington Middle School. I graduated from Ohio University in 2012 with a degree in Middle Childhood Education, specializing in Social Studies and Science.
In my class, we cover American History from 1492 to 1877, and my favorite topic to teach is the American Civil War. Along with teaching, I am also the Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach and the HMS Athletic Director. My email is jeff.magill@huntsmen.org if you ever need to contact me throughout the year.
I look forward to having my 8th graders in class and sharing my passion for American history with them. Go Green!
