Beginning on Monday, November 16th, Huntington High School students will transition to Plan B - remote learning for all students. This will continue through Monday, November 30th. Students will return to in person learning on Tuesday, December 1st. The transition to Plan B is due to a high number of students that have been quarantined in the High School. At this time, our District only has 2 confirmed positive student cases and 2 presumed positive cases. These statistics are updated daily on our district website. Pickaway-Ross students will still attend on their normal schedule. Elementary and Middle School students will continue to follow Plan A - attending in person.

We want to remind all of our high school students that are currently quarantined or taking part in remote learning to check in online for attendance. Quarantined and remote learning students have been enrolled in an attendance class. Checking in on that class will ensure you are counted present for the day and not counted absent. Our quarantined students will still receive a call reporting the absence but as long as you check in on the attendance class you will be counted present. If you have any questions about attendance issues please contact the high school office.

Due to Covid-19 and quarantine, our first two weeks of elementary girls basketball have been postponed. There will be no biddy basketball on November 14 or November 21. We will start the first week of December. Reschedule dates will be announced later for the first two weeks.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Congratulations to our attendant Holly Colburn, recipient of a Golden Apple Award from Ross-Pike ESD. Miss Holly was nominated by Mrs. Riley. Mrs Riley wrote, “Miss Holly is one of the best and hardest workers. She always shows up, does what is asked of her, and then SOME! Holly really does go above and beyond to be helpful to me, other teachers, and to each student!”
Congratulations, Miss Holly!

Good evening, I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying safe during this time. I wanted to take a minute and update our community on a few items concerning the restart of school this fall. First, we will be returning to school with a few calendar changes. Teachers will come back Tuesday August 18 and students will begin coming back Monday August 24th on a staggered start. Kindergarten and all even grade levels will begin in session on the 24th and all odd grade levels will begin on the 25th and then all grades will be in regular session on Wednesday August 26th according to original school calendar. Our administration and staff are in the process of finalizing a safe start plan with details and protocols for the district and each building. The district will communicate our working plan at the end of next week. Please know that we are doing our very best to make sure all details and protocols will take into consideration individuals and the organization as a whole. Also, let me emphasize, our plan will be a working plan and will most likely have changes as the needs arise. We understand the fast-changing conditions that COVID 19 has created for all of us, but do realize everyone must be willing to adapt throughout the school year. Thank you for your patience and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Message from Pete Ruby, Superintedent of Huntington Local Schools:
This message is in regards to the current Coronavirus situation happening across our state and the nation. As most of you are already aware, the Governor has shut down all K-12 facilities in the entire state. As a result of that shut down, Huntington Local Schools will not be in session beginning Monday March 16, 2020. This shut down will remain in effect until Friday April 3, 2020 with students returning to class on Monday April 6, 2020. Our teaching staff will report on Monday to finalize all grades for the end of the 3rd nine weeks and begin preparing educational materials that will help keep your child engaged in their education. The administration and staff will also be preparing plans for how these materials will be accessible to you in the coming weeks.
I understand there are many questions at this time. Please allow us to make some preparations on Monday and address other issues such as sports, extracurriculars, and potential food pickup or delivery. We will communicate any and all information through our one call system and our school website as well as social media outlets. Thank you for your patience during this time.
Please keep in mind, updates to the coronavirus are happening daily and be prepared for other changes as they are passed to the local schools.
