Attention 7th and 8th graders: It’s “TRACK TIME”. If you would like to join in the fun of being a part of this sports team and you did not attend the meeting, it’s not too late! We have a sign-up sheet in the office. Everyone is invited to sign-up…there are no try-outs and no cuts. There are several events you can train for or participate in including not only running distance and sprints, but also in jumping and throwing. Conditioning will start Monday after school.  

Some students may be bringing home reminders of Spring Pictures that has a date of March 12th. This has been changed. The correct date for pictures will be March 4th. Order forms will be sent home next week for those who are interested in having Spring Pictures taken.

Order forms for the 2018-19 Yearbook are in the office. 

Cheerleading Clinics will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (Feb. 25, 26 & 28) from 4:30-6:30. Try-outs will be Saturday March 2nd from 10:00-2:00. Be sure to pick up a packet in the office if you intend to try-out) 

The Girls Basketball Banquet will be March 27th at 6:30 in the cafeteria.  
 
Attention 6th and 7th graders… If you would like to work in the Student-Run Credit Union next year, we have applications in the office for students who will be entering 7th and 8th grades. Various jobs are available. They will be hiring a Branch Manager, Member Service Representative, Teller, Bookkeeper and Data Entry Specialist. Don’t forget, if you make a transaction every Wednesday during the month of February, you could win a $20 Visa Gift Card. 
 
It’s time for the 2019 Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library’s Poetry Contest. Any student from Kindergarten through 12th grade is eligible to participate. The contest begins Feb. 1st and the deadline for the final entry is Friday March 1. Categories and grades are K-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8 and High School. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners and Honorable Mentions in each category will be notified and given an invitation to attend a reception held in their honor on April 10th at 6:00. They will receive a certificate, a copy of this year’s book and an opportunity to read their poems at the reception. Any form (Piku, Haiku, Free Verse, Limericks etc.) is accepted. 

Attention 7th and 8th grade boys who are not currently playing basketball… You are welcome to come to baseball hitting practice beginning this week. Hitting will be after school in the Elementary Gym every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
