Ronda Pauley and Kermit Vickers

The Huntington community is mourning the loss of two amazing individuals who dedicated their lives to helping the young people of our township.  January 10th, retired teacher and former board member Ronda Pauley passed away following an extended illness.  January 23rd, long-time basketball coach Kermit Vickers passed away following a brief illness.

Ronda was a 1968 graduate of Huntington High School.  She began her career at Huntington Elementary in 1970.  Former students fondly remember her as kind, encouraging and a shining example of what a teacher should be.  Following her retirement from Huntington in 2011, Ronda served a term on the Huntington School Board, authored young-adult novels and was the owner of the Old Homestead Market.

Kermit graduated from Huntington High School in 1960.  Kermit was the owner and operator of Custom Upholstery Shop for over 50 years.  He was a member of the Igniters Street Rod Club and F.O.E. Aerie 600.  For the last 40 years, Kermit has been a constant in Huntington basketball.  His passion for teaching young players the fundamentals of the game is unmatched.  His influence on multiple generations of TWP players is a legacy that will continue to endure.

Our thoughts, prayers and gratitude go out to the loved ones of Ronda and Kermit.  Thank you for sharing your loved one with our community. They will forever be a part of the Huntington Family.
